Socialising Design: the contributions of the universal design movement

This slideshow  presentation by Professor Rob Imrie of Goldsmith’s University in London. He has three themes: Socialising Design – the Issues; Universal Design: a Social Design Paradigm?; and the Future for Universal Design. The slideshow is based on photos and graphics, but even without text, many of the photos are self-explanatory. Some pictures of disasters have been seen before but are a good reminder of why we want change. Rob ends by saying universal design needs to be wedded to disability policy. He introduces the notion of “Design as Violence”.
