The two pictures show the most recent designs in pedestrian crossings in Dubai. The road is ramped up to the crossing so that pedestrians don’t have to negotiate a ramp. Bollards are always a problem on any crossing, but are often essential to stop vehicles from parking or mounting the walkway. In the second picture there are also concrete flower containers to negotiate, as well as the tramway marked in yellow. As most roads are very wide, pedestrians have to make the crossing in two parts, pausing in the centre.
