Dementia friendly home app

Icon graphic saying Creating a dementia friendly nationSeventy percent of people with dementia are living in the community. Remaining independent for a long as possible at home can often depend on simple changes being made to the home environment. The app is designed for family members and carers rather than the person with dementia.  Using a floorplan, the app navigates you through different rooms in a house. In each room the app will tell you what things could be a stumbling block and make suggestions for changes. It even goes to the detail of the choice of bed sheet and carpet patterns.

The article in the Aged Care Guide explains the app in more detail and provides a video example of the app.  Or you can go directly to the Alzheimer’s Australia Victorian website to view the app.
