Rights & Inclusion Australia and Australian Network for Universal Housing Design will be holding a housing forum Tuesday 15 August from 1:30 to 5:00pm. The forum will provide an update on progress towards accessible private dwellings in Australia. This is a particularly significant time politically as the Building Ministers’ Forum in April agreed to propose to COAG that a Regulatory Impact Assessment be undertaken on applying minimum access features to all new dwellings.
The housing forum is an addition to the Home Modifications Conference being held at ANZ Stadium, Sydney Olympic Park, Homebush. Also in addition to the Conference, a workshop and discussion on Home Renovations for Retirees will be held in the morning of 15 August. This is being organised jointly by CUDA and COTA NSW and is focused on consumers thinking about renovating or choosing a new home. Registration is via the COTA NSW website.
