The Renovations for Retirees workshop is for anyone thinking about renovating their home or looking for a new home to downsize or “right-size” for later life. It is common knowledge that many older people want to stay put in their family home for as long as possible. Others would like to downsize or rightsize to reduce maintenance, but size is only one factor to consider. The key to staying put at home, or in a new home, is having it designed in a way that supports ongoing independence.
The workshop is jointly hosted by COTA NSW* and Centre for Universal Design Australia (CUDA). It is being held alongside the Home Modifications National Conference. Workshop participants will have the opportunity to discover how simple and attractive design features can increase the comfort and safety of their home. Participants will also have access to the trade display with the latest products available.
The Renovations for Retirees Workshop will be held in the morning of 15 August 2017 at the ANZ Stadium, Sydney Olympic Park. The cost is $26.00 for COTA NSW members and $40.00 for non-members. To find out more download the flyer or go to the COTA NSW website to register. Places are limited.
