The inaugural Australian Universal Design Conference was held at Sydney Town Hall from 20-21 August 2014. The conference was hosted by COTA NSW and sponsored by the City of Sydney and the NSW Department of Family and Community Services. Conference organisers were Interpoint Events.

The focus of the conference was on the built environment. Topics covered public domain, housing, open spaces, transport, tourism, children, wellbeing and user participation.
