We are pleased to announce that UD2020 will become UD2021 for 17 – 18 May 2021 in Melbourne. It will be a COVID-safe event and fellow UD Champions will be looking forward to meeting and exchanging knowledge and ideas once again!

The theme is “Thriving with Universal Design: Everyone, Everywhere, Everyday”. The theme provides opportunity for anyone working with or researching universal design and inclusive practice to contribute to this growing body of work. This conference comes with a promise to broaden delegates’ thinking about the many ways universal design can be utilised and applied.

There might be changes to the program depending on the availability of speakers. We will keep you updated.

The conference website has the program with links to abstracts, and the list of speakers. Highlights include keynotes from James Thurston from G3ict, and Philip Taylor from Federation University.

The inclusive tourism panel will have Martin Heng, Nicole Healy, Victorian Government, and Sarah Seddon, formerly from Destination Melbourne. The final panel session will discuss the role of government in promoting and implementing universal design: James Thurston, G3ict, Michael Walker, Victorian Government, and Fiona Morrison, NSW Government will give their views. With a lunchtime walking tour, Table Topic discussions, workshops and posters there’s something for everyone!

CUDA members receive a discount on the registration fee.

The conference will be held in the brand new Victoria Pavilion, Melbourne Showgrounds. It’s close to the city and the airport.

There are other conferences and calls for papers in Australia and overseas.
