4th Australian Universal Design Conference – UD2020 will be held 12-13 May 2020, Melbourne Showgrounds.
The call for abstracts opens 29 August and closes 21 October 2019. The theme is Thriving with Universal Design: Everyone, Everywhere, Everyday.
The theme allows a broad range of topics to be included from academics, practitioners, educators, policy makers and anyone interested in universal design and inclusive practice. Topics can include anything that relates to the theme, including research papers, case studies and personal experience. For example:
Tourism and travel
Playgrounds, parks and open spaces
Art and culture
Events and attractions
Media and journalism
Health and wellbeing
Presentation formats are:
- Workshop (1.5 hours),
- Oral presentation (20 minutes, 10 minutes questions),
- Table Topic (40 minute small roundtable discussion over lunch),
- Poster A1 size
The call for abstracts will close 21 October 2019. Abstracts will be blind peer reviewed.
Abstracts, or outline of your presentation or session, should be a maximum of 300 words. Successful submissions will be advised by 11 November 2019.
The key selection criteria are: compatibility with the theme; a focus on inclusion and universal design rather than access compliance; a focus on an innovation or new process or practice; and interesting to a diverse audience.
